Academic advising fosters the growth and development of students, empowering them to become stewards of their own academic, career, and personal choices while progressing toward degree completion in a diverse, inclusive and robust learning environment.

As a result of participating in advising, students will:

  • Understand their degree requirements
  • Register for courses to progress towards graduation and career goals
  • Explain connections outside classrooms that can enhance their college experience
  • Develop a plan and timeline to meet their educational goals
  • Seek help from campus resources when needed
  • Actively participate in the student-academic adviser relationship
  • Take responsibility for designing and achieving their educational experience
